We have not yet been able to get in touch with this center and collect a formal appeal, which we plan to do over course of time but which might take a considerable while due to our having to get in touch with a large number of centers, the remoteness of the centers, as well as their not having any readymade formal appeals in hand.

What we have portrayed below, therefore, is the philanthrophic/charitable activities conducted by this center as submitted in their annual report to the Ramakrishna Mission Headquarters.

As should be obvious, all philanthrophic/charitable activities of Ramakrishna Mission are supported through contributions from kind hearted folks and/or institutions.

Started in 1957 and affiliated in 1968, this ashrama conducts the following:

  • Charitable allopathic-cum-homoeopathic polyclinic with X-ray, dental, eye, ENT, orthopaedic, gynaecology, paediatrics, electro-cum-physiotherapy and pathological laboratory sections handling about 57,150 cases annually,
  • A free hostel for 20 poor but meritorious college students,
  • A public library and reading-room with bout 43,650 books and 105 periodicals and newspapers,
  • Publication of Vivek Jyoti, a quarterly journal in Hindi for more than the last three decades,
  • 40 religious classes, about 100 public lectures and debate and elocution competitions in and outside the ashrama,
  • Daily worship and fortnightly Ramnam, and
  • Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, the Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda and other religious celebrities.
