A Note from the Website Administrator
We have not yet been able to get in touch with this center and collect a formal appeal, which we plan to do over course of time but which might take a considerable while due to our having to get in touch with a large number of centers, the remoteness of the centers, as well as their not having any readymade formal appeals in hand.

What we have portrayed below, therefore, is the philanthrophic/charitable activities conducted by this center as submitted in their annual report to the Ramakrishna Mission Headquarters.

As should be obvious, all philanthrophic/charitable activities of Ramakrishna Mission are supported through contributions from kind hearted folks and/or institutions.

Started in 1925 and located in 1931 in its present premises, this ashrama conducts the following:

  • Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, situated on an extensive plot of land a little away from the Ashrama, being a residential higher secondary school with 390 students where, along with academic studies, various extra curricular activities are held. It has a library with about 15,900 books.
  • Ramakrishna Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education, housed in an impressive and commodious building in the Vidyashala campus, conducts a one-year BEd course with moral and spiritual education as one of the compulsory subjects with about 99 students. Its library has about 24,100 books. Short-term courses and retreats are conducted for college students and teachers as well as for the general public. A special feature of the Institute is its beautiful temple with a tall Gopuram.
  • Rural and tribal welfare work in the tribal belt of Mysore District, concentrating mainly on agriculture by improving the irrigation system and providing other inputs,
  • A library with about 14000 books,
  • A publication department for books in Kannada, with about 10 news books and 30 reprints
  • Regular worship, Ramnam and bhajans,
  • Regular classes and occasional lectures in and outside the city,
  • Birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, the Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda
