Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, is a branch of the world renowned Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission with its Head Quarters at Belur, Howrah. In this cultural capital of Tamilnadu, a private centre was functioning from 1975 and that centre was affiliated to the Ramakrishna Math in 1987. This holy city has a unique place in the history of the Ramakrishna Movement as it was blessed by the sanctifying visits of Kshudiram Chatterjee, father of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and many of the Direct Disciples of Sri Ramakrishna.

A Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna was dedicated by the most revered Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj, the present president of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur on 13th March 1998. This temple is a symbol of harmony and peace and is open to all irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

Spiritual
Various spiritual activities at the temple such as Mangalarati, Puja, Evening Arati, Bhajans, Vishnu Sahasranama and Lalitha Sahasranama chantings, Ramanama Sankirtana on Ekadashi days, Special Pujas on festival occasions and Birthday celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna.

Free distribution of school uniforms, notebooks including providing scholarships to deserving poor children.

Donations in cash or kind for all our activities will be thankfully accepted and acknowledged. All donations are exempted from income tax in India under Section 80(G).
