We have not yet been able to get in touch with this center and collect a formal appeal, which we plan to do over course of time but which might take a considerable while due to our having to get in touch with a large number of centers, the remoteness of the centers, as well as their not having any readymade formal appeals in hand.

What we have portrayed below, therefore, is the philanthrophic/charitable activities conducted by this center as submitted in their annual report to the Ramakrishna Mission Headquarters.

As should be obvious, all philanthrophic/charitable activities of Ramakrishna Mission are supported through contributions from kind hearted folks and/or institutions.

Started in 1914 and affiliated in 1925, the Sevashrama conducts the following:

  • Vivekananda Polyclinic whose in-patient department has 150 beds and treats about 6000 cases annually. The out-patient department treats about 6,33,000 cases annually through its 22 sections, of which general medicine, general surgery, ENT, dentistry, opthalmology, pathology, radiology, physical medicine, gynaecology, family planning, homoeopathic and ayurvedic are important,
  • A mobile medical unit that treats about 1,08,500 cases annually,
  • A school of nursing with 36 trainees,
  • A library with about 2750 books,
  • Spending about Rs. 27,500 annually towards welfare work.
Started in 1982, the Math centre conducts daily worship, bhajans, forthnightly Ramnam and Shyamnam sankirtans, weekly religious discourses and lectures, and observing the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, the Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda and celebrating Durga Puja.
