This appeal has been floated to ask help for our hospital, which runs on Public Patronage. Please take out time to go through it and tell your friends and relatives who would like to be a part of this unique Humanitarian Hospital.

The Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram at Kankhal (Haridwar District) has provided the public with nearly a century old tradition of health and medicare in the sacred ideal of service for self-realisation. From two inspired disciples and a tiny box of medicines at the turn of this century, the service has turned into a full-fledged hospital catering to more than three lakh patients annually. All the building, machinery and essential equipments, induction of doctors and para medical staff has solely depended on Public Patronage.

But as the gap between capital inflow and outflow widens and annual shortages grow, our cumulative deficit is likely to mount to Rs 20 lakhs. While bearing the burden of this deficit we feel a deep sense of accountability to the population we serve not only in keeping in the existing scale of work but also in the completion of important tasks underway. For this we appeal to you to donate generosouly and keep the service and tradition alive.

SEVASHRAM STORY
 

1901 -	Set up by two disciples with blessings of Swami Vivekananda to serve the ailing sadhus and local poor. For serving the poor the unit was setup at its present location in make shift huts for providing indoor care.
1963 -	Quantum leap by setting up three storied 65 bedded hospital for treatment of male patients.
1973 -	Mobile Service launched to serve people in and around 25 kms.
1979 -	A hospital was built to cater exclusively for women patients on 1.26 acres of land raising strength to 122 beds.

SEVASHRAM FINANCIAL POSITION

With the construction of the hospital, specialized departments were constructed and were equipped with equipments like X-ray machines, Ultrasound machines and Laboratory equipments to keep them up to date. The Sevashram thanks the public for it's patronage which made this possible; but the inflow of funds is not sufficient to complete the necessary projects underway.

In 1992-93 we incurred a loss of 1.20 lakhs
In 1994-95 we incurred a loss of 8.00 lakhs
Which means by this year it will go to 20 lakhs this year.

3.	Equipment for ICCU (ICCU block Ready)	40.00 lakhs
4.	Nurses Hostel ( Construction half-way)	15.00 lakhs
5.	Generating Set	10.00 lakhs
6.	An Over head water tank	20.00 lakhs
	Total Requirement	1,40.00 lakhs

The Sevashram would wish to honor its donor by engraving their names on a big marble plaque erected at the parking place, moreover the name of the donors will be printed in the annual report.

All donations are exempted under section 80-G of Income Tax
