A Note from the Website Administrator
We have not yet been able to get in touch with this center and collect a formal appeal, which we plan to do over course of time but which might take a considerable while due to our having to get in touch with a large number of centers, the remoteness of the centers, as well as their not having any readymade formal appeals in hand.

What we have portrayed below, therefore, is the philanthrophic/charitable activities conducted by this center as submitted in their annual report to the Ramakrishna Mission Headquarters.

As should be obvious, all philanthrophic/charitable activities of Ramakrishna Mission are supported through contributions from kind hearted folks and/or institutions.

Started in 1985 for the uplift of the tribals of Abujhmarh, the ashrama conducts the following:

  • Vivekananda Arogya Dham, a 30-bed hospital which handles about 2300 in-patients and about 38000 out-patients annually,
  • A mobile dispensary that handles about 8500 cases annually,
  • An agriculture-cum-demonstration farm holding about 29 camps training about 950 farmers,
  • A residential school with about 500 tribal students,
  • A multipurpose workers' training centre training 11 villagers in agriculture, horticulture, carpentry, bee-keeping, etc.,
  • 6 fair-price shops,
  • 5 tribal service ccentres at Kutul, Irakbhatti, Kundla, Kachchapal and Akabeda, each of which runs a primary school with an attached hostel with a total strength of about 450 children, a health post and a horticulture farm,
  • Village development works in three villages, and
  • Birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna, the Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda and cultural programmes.
