A Note from the Website Administrator
We have not yet been able to get in touch with this center and collect a formal appeal, which we plan to do over course of time but which might take a considerable while due to our having to get in touch with a large number of centers, the remoteness of the centers, as well as their not having any readymade formal appeals in hand.

What we have portrayed below, therefore, is the philanthrophic/charitable activities conducted by this center as submitted in their annual report to the Ramakrishna Mission Headquarters.

As should be obvious, all philanthrophic/charitable activities of Ramakrishna Mission are supported through contributions from kind hearted folks and/or institutions.

The Math was founded in 1908 and the Mission Sevashrama in 1910 by Swami Vijnanananda.

The Sevashrama conducts the following:

  • A charitable homoeopathic-cum-allopathic dispensary with pathology, ECG and specialist consultancy services handling about 1,52,125 cases annually,
  • Free distribution of milk and biscuits on week days to 32 poor children,
  • Recitation and elocution competitions for students,
  • A camp at Magh Mela consisting of free out-patient medical service (about 20,225 cases), religious exhibition, discourses, bookstall, shrine etc., and
  • A library and reading room with a separate section for children with about 26500 books and 62 periodicals and newspapers
The Math conducts the following:
  • Daily worship and Bhajans,
  • Regular religious classes and lectures in and outside the premises,
  • Birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, the Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Vijnanananda, and some other religious celebrities, and
  • Welfare work by way of scholarships and other aids to poor and meritorious students, distribution of blankets to poor people, etc. amounting to about Rs. 17000.
